- Tell your boy to " be strong" or "act like a man" especially when he's feeling vulnerable.
- Discourage him from expressing feelings of hurt or fear.
- Use shaming language like "How could you that?" Instead, be nonjudgemental. Ask "What's going on?" or " What happened here ? "
- Give your son undivided attention at least once a day.
- Express your love and empathy openly and generously
- Encourage his expression of e range of emotions - happy, sad, nervous, lonely. And if he seems to be in emotional pain, reach out.
