It's amazing the things people collect: toupees. fans, forceps, bottles, canes, even skulls. Michael Jackson stuff, hatpins, forged signatures, first edition cards, and gas masks. A Russian countess paid extravagant sums of money for bedpans that belonged to famous or notorious people.
We don't know why a little boy picked a certain items from the gutter and discard other.
We don't know why, on theseashore, we discard certain shells and keep others.
The mind's prospensity to discriminate and organise and define and choose will not be denied, no matter how unpromising the raw material. It's all because of FUN!!!
