Get the Picture: Protect Your Camera

Travelling with a single lens reflex (SLR) camera ? Consider fitting a filter over the lens - it is much cheaper to replace if it gets scratched. A polarising filter reduces glare on water and glass, and deepens colours for blue, blue skies and cotton wool clouds. Pack a small bean bag instead of a heavy tripod. Use it to wedgethe camera in a fork of a tree or to support a telephoto lens on a wall. Scrunch your camera around to get it level.
