What is Cosplay?
Cosplay is originated from Japan, its popular in the United States because more people have embraced Cosplay, but its still restricted to positive times.
Which is much different from what happens in Japan, where Cosplay events or Cosplayers, can be seen strutting their stuff & even acting out their characters, on the streets. In the United States Cosplayers or Cosplay events, are chiefly seen at conventions.
Cosplay costumes can go from the simple, to handmade, elaborate or even being bought from a store.
Handmade is usually better, if its your hands that creates the costume, because you get pride in generating, your own costume & if it finally wins at the local, Cosplay conventions competitions, for any Cosplayer that is immense!
But take note, you don't only must make your costume to win, you also must strut your stuff in the competition by acting & speaking, like the Character of the costume.
I assure you, the feeling is high, as you get a immense boost for a regular Cosplayer, which makes it all the more fun.
There is various conventions, held in Japan for Cosplay exhibitions, an example is the Comiket or Comic Market, its held times a year, so you get the chance to show off, your new Manga costume, don't forget the pics, also you get the chance to increase your Anime or Manga memorabilia at the exhibitions.
Cosplayers, that is somebody who wears any of the Anime or Manga gear, can be found anywhere in Japan, because Japan's youths are the main drive of this fashion, so don't be startled when you see Cosplayers on the streets of Japan.
Cosplayers also have their regular hangouts, where you can see em in their numbers, such a place is in Tokyo's Akihabari & Harajuku districts, can get lost in Cosplay world, as there is a lot of cosplay cafes, where you find the waitresses serving in costume.
Also there is some Cosplay parties, which are held in some nightclubs & even parks.
In case you are interested in a Cosplay or any of the events, then you can brave out the conventions in Otakon, Anime Boston, DragonCon or any of the other conventions that comes up yearly in the United States, or better still, come to where Cosplay was invented & rocks, Japan.
